TinCan Fabric and Design is a small New Mexico company that produces one-of-a-kind textile goods from re-purposed as well as new natural fabrics: silk, linen, cotton, wool and leather. Our artisans design and sew quilted fabric panels. These panels are made from several layers of fabric. The top layer consists of the silk collage on a silk fabric base. This layer is placed over an interior layer of batting and a final layer of cotton, silk, or linen. This "sandwich" is then quilted on our sewing machines producing the panels needed for the handbags, totes, small zippered coin purses, wall hangings, and other useful items. Hand embroidery and beading enhance many of our products. We know that beautiful and useful items can be produced from discarded materials and we hope that once you see our bags and other products you will agree.
